This Saturday, Sept 10th
What would be the challenges in a world where fossil fuels are scarce or non-existent?
Could that world be even closer than we think?
It certainly is as Europe struggles to do without Putin's oil.
We have all had a taste of what happens when the complex supply chains run on fossil fuels break down, as climate and the pandemic have broken those chains in the past couple of years.
Would such a "collapse" be doom, or a clean slate for a better future?
All this and more will be considered this Saturday with leading author and thought leader Richard Heinberg kicking of the conversation.
That's me with my chickens! We have a great slate of speakers who will be leading break out rooms on their programs and expertise. Of course, I will be talking about Villaging. Whatever a world without fossil fuels looks like, you are going to want to be able to walk or bike to life's daily activities. Villaging brings those activities home, reclaimed from the global supply chain, to be grounded in your own neighborhood.
I will be leading three breakout sessions on Villaging:
1) Undermining capitalism, one neighbor at a time
2) Homesteading together
3) From housing to villaging: 5 essentials
While Villaging can be as simple as being a good neighbor, it can also be quite radical. As you can see, I am thinking that the audience for this conference series is ready for radical! Hopefully Villaging will be part of each of the follow up sessions, but don't wait to hear Richard and see what people are doing.
