How would your life be different if you lived in a
Village?

Most Americans can only imagine this.

Can you see yourself walking down a narrow street, waving to folks who greet you by name? Stopping in to pick up fresh baked bread and have a cup of coffee? Maybe there is a market square? Maybe people come to your house for work? Can you see the gardens behind the stone walls, and the green of the fields beyond the village?

What if I told you there was a way to get that feeling, right now, in your own neighborhood?

While we can't create romantic 500 year old stone buildings and your HOA is never going to go for cobblestone streets, we have identified some key ingredients to Village Life that are available to everyone.

What makes you feel safe in these uncertain times?

Is a closet full of toilet paper and canned beans enough to weather the increasing issues with food, energy and health?

What if you knew that your neighbors had your back and that food was always growing nearby?

What makes you feel fulfilled?

So many of us came back home in 2020 and 2021, and many realized that we liked it.  We rediscovered the satisfaction of making, baking, fixing and hanging out.  We discovered our inner artist, film maker and fun person.

Villaging Life elevates those skills and passions as important elements of your community.

The Real Secret ...

Yep, i am going to tell you right here, on the home page.  You might not like it.  You cannot meditate, exercise, or vibrate your way to a great life. (not that those are bad things, they just aren't enough)

We simply must learn to live with each other.

To work together.

Without an authority figure making us work or behave.

But to just reach out to the person next to us and be able to accomplish something beneficial for each of us.

To work through the things that stop us and create bonds of respect, trust and communication.

Wait, I thought we were talking about cool villages

The key to village life, whether you are visioning a medieval village, a current European village, a future village, or an Amazon village...

People depend on each other.

What kinds of things?

The kinds of things that made real life, traditional villages work.

Practical things.

GROWING A WEB OF CONNECTIONS

Villaging is sharing your practical skills/hobbies with those in your neighborhood one or two at a time.

As you create pods of production and connect with others within walking distance, your neighborhood takes on the character of a traditional village.

You can walk down the street and know the people you see, and stop in for a cup of tea, home brew, fresh baked bread or, help fixing a bike or toaster.

As the vision of your village grows, you may dig deeper into the place and the land where your houses are built.  You may plan celebrations and traditions like a market day or land day.
